Job Description
Modeling & Simulation Engineer – Autonomous Driving Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) position offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, MI). Support research and developmental efforts in automated vehicle technologies ranging from Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to semi- and fully-autonomous driving capabilities. Design, implement, validate, and document Matlab/Simulink models for interfacing to SIL and HIL vehicle systems. Integrate and configure models, interfaces, and simulation tools to create complete Autonomous Driving vehicle SIL simulations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or a related engineering field, which must include coursework in engine systems, vehicle chassis, and powertrain controls
  • 6 months of experience developing and simulating software
  • 6 months of experience scripting, debugging, and designing plant models using Matlab and Simulink
  • 6 months of experience creating and executing test plans, test scripts and test automation, and generating reports for vehicle control systems
  • 6 months of experience conducting commercial powertrain simulations with SIL and HIL tools dSpace Control Desk and CarSim
  • 6 months of experience developing in C code
