Our industry-leading Built Ford Tough trucks, vans and commercial vehicles are poised to expand sales significantly in the next year. Ford is the best-selling commercial brand in North America, with 46.7 percent market share in the classes where we compete in the U.S.
The iconic F-Series pickup truck continues to be the best-selling vehicle nameplate in North America and the best-selling full-size pickup in the U.S. since 1977. Over the last few years, F-Series has steadily increased the number of full-size pickups sold, with fuel-efficient yet powerful and capable V6 engines. Across the full-size truck category in the U.S., 75 percent of six-cylinder trucks sold proudly wear the Blue Oval badge.
Ford also leads in vans. Ford E-Series has been the market leader in the U.S. for 34 years and Ford Transit has been the best-selling van in the U.K. for 48 years. 2012 marked the global reveal of the next generation of full-size Transit vans, wagons, cutaways and the all-new chassis cab model. These fuel-efficient vehicles add capability for Ford customers globally, while reducing operating costs. While this new lineup will replace the legendary E-Series van and wagon in 2014, E-Series cutaway and stripped chassis variants will remain in production through the end of the decade to satisfy market demand.
Rounding out the Transit family are all-new versions of the successful Transit Connect van, which will be offered in two wheelbase lengths for U.S. customers. A well-appointed passenger wagon includes a full package of safety features and convenience options that make this wagon alternative – known in Europe as the Tourneo Connect – an ideal choice for active families and individuals.
Europe saw the arrival of the all-new Transit Custom van and the Tourneo Custom people mover, each of which deliver modern exterior design, car-like interiors and outstanding driving dynamics, durability and load-carrying ability.
Finally, the global Ranger truck sold outside North America continues to regularly set new sales records, pleasing personal- and commercial-use customers alike with its unmatched combination of capability, convenience, style and fuel economy.
