Warranty Coverage Denied

Your New Vehicle Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may have other rights that vary from state to state. Under your New Vehicle Limited Warranty if:

  • your Ford vehicle is properly operated and maintained, and
  • was taken to a Ford dealership for a warranted repair during the warranty period,

then authorized Ford Motor Company dealers will, without charge, repair, replace, or adjust all parts on your vehicle that malfunction or fail during normal use during the applicable coverage period due to a manufacturing defect in factory-supplied materials or factory workmanship.

In some situations, Ford or Lincoln Motor Company may deny warranty coverage for a repair even though your vehicle may still be within the New Vehicle Limited or Powertrain Warranty period.  Some reasons why a repair may not be completed on your vehicle or why a repair is denied warranty coverage are:

  • The vehicle is operating normally and no repair is needed

  • The component is a maintenance or wear item (examples include but are not limited to: wiper blades, brake pads, belts, hoses, etc.)

  • The warranty coverage has expired

  • The vehicle has not been properly maintained

  • The vehicle concern was caused by improper operation

  • The vehicle has been modified

  • The warranty has been voided

  • The title has been branded

The above is meant to provide examples and is not an all-inclusive list.  If you have questions about why a repair is not being covered under warranty, please speak with the service manager at your local Ford or Lincoln dealership.  You can also contact the Customer Relationship Center at 800-392-3673.
