FORD BUSINESS LEADER PROGRAM
The Ford Business Leader program develops the General Management capabilities necessary to manage the profit & loss of a business, market or product line within the company.
Created in 2016, the FBLP is a cross-functional General Management program that provides participants with a unique opportunity to accelerate professional development and to position themselves as Ford Motor Company’s future executive leaders. These future leaders are able to create a platform for change; inspire, educate and guide others. This competitive program is open to candidates from top MBA programs who demonstrate an ability to excel at a global business level.
The program lasts for three rotations of 12-18 months each.
Diverse business experience
Three impactful 12-18 month assignments to build foundational competency in Marketing, Finance, and Strategy
Each role is hand-crafted with the participant’s strengths, opportunities and development plan in mind; not ‘one-size fits all’
Leadership partnering and executive mentoring
Collaboration with proven business leaders, guided by an executive sponsor
Work in a global context, forging strong partnerships across regions and geographies
Continuous Education Opportunities
Monthly FBLP Cohort Sessions
Ongoing learning & network development through the introduction of Company SMEs on leadership and key methodologies
Cohort discussions with key leaders in the business, aimed to develop awareness and understanding of the Company scope, scale and key areas of focus
General Management Shadowing
1-2 day shadowing opportunities for current general managers across the globe
The program’s sponsors and mentors welcome each new FBLP class into the cohort.
Bi-Weekly Happy Hours
We meet as a cohort at least twice a month to strengthen our personal and professional relationships, learn about each other’s respective experiences, and talk shop more generally.
FBLPs also host a wide variety of social gatherings throughout the year, including holiday get-togethers, super-bowl party, St. Patrick’s Day party, Fowling (football bowling) outings, beer tastings, and more.
Each FBLP member will have a different career path – with roles in various skill teams and in core General Manager positions.
As part of this exciting program, you’ll enjoy a high level of involvement with an exceptional team of industry innovators and visionaries. You’ll contribute in a meaningful way to our important, breakthrough work. And you’ll develop the skills that will give you a significant edge in your future career pursuits.
