Ford is partnering with local governments and others to make a significant investment in local training, including the construction of new training facilities.
We are connecting high schools, Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology, colleges, universities, and other community organizations to training resources so as many local residents as possible can be part of the Ford team at BlueOval City.
Ford is exploring how to remove transportation barriers that could prevent someone from pursuing an opportunity in connection with our facilities. We are working with local government and other stakeholders to develop transportation options.

Despite its size, the assembly plant at BlueOval City is designed to use recovered heat from the site’s utility infrastructure and geothermal system to provide heat for the assembly plant. Ford is designing a holistic water management system for BlueOval City and aspires to use no fresh water for its assembly processes. The assembly plant at BlueOval City is expected to be a zero waste to landfill site once fully operational and is designed to meet our air emission goals.
Ford partnered with the University of Tennessee to make a $16+ million investment in watershed restoration and hands-on STEM education in West Tennessee. The investment restored and provided community access to approximately two miles of severely impaired streams and several acres of wetlands along Cub Creek, 40 miles southeast of BlueOval City in Middleton, Tennessee. Restoration work included stabilizing and rejuvenating two miles of waterway; restoring natural water flow and connectivity to the floodplain; reestablishing creek buffers by planting native hardwood trees and other species; and putting protections in place to restrict livestock and other activities that impair water quality. As part of this investment, Ford is supporting hands-on STEM education at Lone Oaks Farm, which serves K-12 students throughout the Mid-South.
