Unsolicited Idea Submission Policy

Ford Motor Company, its employees, suppliers, and contractors do not accept, review, or consider any unsolicited ideas, works, materials, proposals, suggestions, artwork, content or the like, including for advertising campaigns, promotions, products, services, technologies, product enhancements, product designs, processes, marketing strategies, product names, content or other creative materials. Please do not send or provide any submissions in any form to Ford or any of its executives, employees, suppliers, or contractors.

Specifically, do not submit confidential information to Ford; CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION WILL NOT BE REVIEWED. Please note that Ford employees or contractors are not authorized to accept unsolicited information on a confidential or restricted basis.

Ford respects the intellectual property rights of others. To minimize the risk associated with receiving ideas from outside the Company and to avoid misunderstandings, Ford chooses not to accept unsolicited ideas from individuals or other companies, including start-ups.

Ford and its suppliers invest billions of dollars each year and have thousands of employees around the world engaged in research and development of new ideas. If Ford has something in development similar to an idea that might be submitted from outside the Company, this can cause confusion about the origin of the idea. That is why we avoid evaluating ideas that could create conflict with our internal efforts. Determining who developed certain aspects of an idea can be complex, time-consuming, and involve hundreds of people. Therefore, Ford seeks to develop ideas from the people we employ, and the vast majority of the ideas used by Ford Motor Company originate with our employees or suppliers.

Please know that we regularly do routine searches of patent applications and granted patents with the United States Patent Office, and other countries’ patent offices when applicable, especially when we are researching and/or implementing a new product, process, or invention.
